Potty Update

I thought I would update you on our potty adventures. No, don't send your kids over to my house to be potty trained....I swear I did nothing special to train Geddy so well or so fast, we just have an awesome kid on our hands. I am not sure how or why he adapted so well to potty training, except that he must have been 100% ready. I did attempt to train him back in December right before Christmas . . . that lasted a day. He probably could have done it back then too, but I am sure it would have taken longer, since he wasn't really ready 6 months ago.

In the two weeks we have been training, he's only gone pee in his pull up at night just ONCE! I am not sure how this happened seeing as how he has peed in his diaper every night for the past 2.5 years, needless to say he's just doing great! I think his accomplishments in potty training have given him a new sense of self and of course he's gotten the much needed recognition that I am sure he was missing since Jennsen came along. Pooping was tough for him the first week, but this week has been great. A couple of days ago he went poop 5 or 6 times that day and since then it seems pooping hasn't been as scary or as hard for him. Now he says to me after pooping "it's easy Mom, feel better." This was my mantra to him the first week as I was begging him to poo every day!

We are so proud of Geddy. He's now completed all of his three "goals" for the year: sleep in a big boy bed, give up the binky, and learn to go in the potty. These three things, that seemed (almost) like insurmountable tasks at the beginning of the year, have really been a breeze! Our kid is awesome! Sorry, I am allowed to brag on my own blog right!?!??

Brag away! That is awesome. I hope my experience is as good as yours. Well, minus the poop in the vent. That doesn't sound fun at all!
