Life without a cell phone

Some of you know that I voluntarily gave up my cell phone a few months ago. Besides a few sighs from Lila (and Dad) over safety concerns, many others thought it was a brave and cool idea! My main objective in doing so, was the save the 40 bucks a month. I have to say now having been without it, it's rather nice and not that big of a deal. I have only thought about it or missed it on a couple of occasions, like when I was sitting in the Doctor's office with Geddy and wanted to call Brennan to tell him that we had been sitting there for an hour, or when I wanted to call Brennan from Smith's to tell him that they didn't have Spade L beef seasoning...so you see pretty pointless stuff I used it for anyway! Now, I am just hoping that my car doesn't brake down in the middle of the winter with Geddy in the back - but I guess I am willing to take my chances to save the 40 bucks. Is that bad? I just think 15 years ago NONE OF US had cell phones, so how did we make do then? Obviously we did, and so I can and it's quite refreshing really!

You know you're in love with your baby boy when...

He poops and it goes up his stomach, up his back, sticks to his arms and legs and you still think he's the cutest thing ever and you even think his poop is cute too! Am I crazy? Geddy has a major blow-out once a day and today topped them all! I thought it was so funny and crazy I screamed for Brennan to come see and bring the camera. Then I thought it would be so cute and funny to post pictures of this major blow-out, then I stopped and said to myself, "wait a minute, that's disgusting, no one else wants to look at my son's poopy bum (sorry Kimberley)." What was I thinking!!! So I will spare you all pictures of my son's "cute poop" and you can all think I am crazy now! I am a crazy, in love mother! Here's some cute, non-poop pictures... HA HA HA

Easter & Rice Cereal

We had a such a nice Easter. We had brunch over at Siri's house with Nana Smoot, Troy's Family, and Siri's Family. Then later in the evening we had Mom and Max over for some yummy soup and salad. I am so grateful for my Savior and his resurrection. At the end of the day, I find solace in Him and know that He will succor me. I feel like I haven't been as close to my Savior lately, so I pulled off the shelf and dusted the ol' "Jesus the Christ," by Elder Talmage, and decided it's time for a good read again.

These pictures are Geddy's 3rd attempt at rice cereal (yesterday). He took to it a little better this time and was happy. The first time he tried it he kept puckering his lips like he was sucking on a lemon. Well, today was his 4th time eating rice cereal and kept gagging on it! Hmmm...maybe we will try again in a few days.

Here we are all ready for Easter Sunday!

Having fun play time!

Happy 4 Months Today!

Geddy had his 4 month well visit today. He's such a healthy and strong boy! He checked out just great! He even did so good with his shots this time. The second after they poked him he got a confused look on his face and then of course screamed, but only for a few seconds, and he was happy again. Good thing...I was dreading those shots - but this time wasn't that bad at all!

Here's his stats:
Height: 24.5" (33%)
Weight: 13 lbs. 12.5 oz. (27%)
Head Circumference: 15.75" (5%)

Bandana Family

Those of you that know us well, know that we LOVE to wear Bandanas. Each one of us- in fact Geddy now loves to wear them too (he he he)! They are my favorite "hair accessory." I have a bandana in almost every color and can be spotted sporting them quite frequently.

(Look at that...bandana! You thought I was going to say belly didn't you??!?!?)

Conference Weekend

We had such a nice conference weekend. We ate our traditional clam chowder at Nana Smoot's house on Sunday...yummy, YUMMY! I especially enjoyed President Eyring's talk on Adversity and President Monson's talk in the Sunday morning session. He said something that struck both Brennan and I - "The future is as bright as your faith." I sometimes become afraid thinking of the challenges and trials that lie ahead; wondering what they will be and if I will be able to rise to the occassion and overcome my weaknesses, but this weekend made me ponder on the fact that I need to have more faith in the Lord and that his plan was meant for us to pass through trials that we may prepare ourselves for eternal life (from Pres. Eyring's talk). What a refreshing weekend!

Our silly little boy! Not only does he LOVE to smile, he is finding new ways to make faces and use his mouth! He likes to make his "frowny" face! It's so funny and cute!

Chillin' in my Bumbo. His favorite thing are his hands! He loves to eat them too!

Don't I look cute in my roosters shirt? My aunt Ashley is a manager at the Roosters in Ogden!
