Zoo Turned Aquarium Day

We left yesterday morning with the intent of going to the Zoo (because it was a free day!), but as we were leaving it started snowing and was really cold and windy, so we decided to go to the Aquarium instead. What a good decision! Geddy loved it! I even bought a membership so we can go frequently. He loved walking around looking at all the fishes, trying to drink the salt water from the sting ray tank, pushing buttons that made frog sounds, and touching everything. What a nice change of pace to get out of the house and do something interactive.

More Bandanna Moments

Okay, so I am sure you already know how much I love bandannas. I just can't help having Geddy wear them too!!!

Ride UTA for Free Day

February 12th was "Ride UTA Free" Day. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this opportunity because I have been wanting to ride FrontRunner for a long time, but never have (it's too pricey). I decided we would take FrontRunner up to Ogden and eat dinner at Roosters (thanks for the gift card Ash). The train was taking off at Farmington Station at 4:46 and we pulled up about 4:44, so we had to run like we were trying to catch a train or something!!! I thought it was exhilirating, but I am sure Brennan was just annoyed as he is a very on-time type of man. Anyway, when the train pulled into the station, I got this rush of energy through my whole body I was so excited, and I was excited for Geddy to be seeing his first train so up close and personal.

I loved sitting at the station, look at those beautiful snow cap mountains in the back. The sounds and sights were just lovely!!!
I overheard a UTA worker say, "the trains are full today," and yes they were. Pretty much standing room only, until we got to Layton, then a seat right next to us opened up.
We arrived at the Ogden Station. I was surprised what a "hub" it truly is. You can catch the train and all sorts of buses right there!
Then we took a short jaunt over to 25th Street. What a neat street! Lined with all sorts of cool botiques and shops. This street to me feels like another world outside of Utah, like Chicago or DC or some other big city with it's ecclectic style.

We had a nice dinner at Roosters. Geddy ate my salmon and Dad's pasta.

Then we moved on to catch the train back to Farmington. Geddy liked seeing all the sight and sounds of the city. Especially the ballons tied to shop doors, or the police lights flashing.

What a fun experience and one that made me feel like I was in a different world!!!!

January Update - My Bucket List

I really felt more productive this month with my bucket list always in the back of my mind. It helped me on days when I felt bored, unorganized or unmotivated. Here are the things I can "check" of my list for January:
-Use more "earth" friendly cleaners
-Call an old friend
-Help organize Brennan's pictures and closet (95% of the way done, just need to get sheet covers that can hold pictures and put his 100 or so pictures in them - not hard.)
-Get rid of old clothes - my basketball shirt from 1996 . . . and I also finally got rid of my pregnancy pee stick. Sorry maybe too much information. I took a picture of it for the scrapbook. This positive pregnancy test held a VERY important memory for me, but the picture of it will help me remember. And a picture won't be collecting dust on top of my bathroom cabinet!!
-Read 4 novels - Read "The Alchemist"
-Attend Temple Quarterly - Attended on 1/15/2010
-Make 72 hour kits (but I didn't include a week worth of food, that was too much to carry and pack into a backpack).

I feel very accomplished! I can't wait to see what I can get done in February! :)

Oh, and I added two more things to my bucket list:
66. Be more patient, kind, and friendly to service workers (people at bank, Qwest, grocery store, etc.)
67. See my Dad Mitch
