Just a few things accomplished this month . . .
4. Learn more about old testament prophets - Abel
14. Play at park a lot with Geddy. We ventured out to Layton Park, Barnes Park, and many local Farmington Parks!
26. Read 4 novels - Stone of Tears (# 2 in the 11 book series!)
27. Get bottom permanent retainer replaced/fixed. I actually decided to get it removed and get a removable retainer. My bottom retainer has been broken in one spot for about 2 years. I hate how it feels to get it removed and all the grinding on the teeth they have to do to remove the glue. However, I have been scared not to have a retainer on my teeth, because as probably only Brennan knows, I have a slight phobia of my bottom teeth falling out. But once they took the retainer off, my teeth felt somewhat sturdy so I decided to just go with the removable and I am TRYING to REMEMBER to wear it at least every other night.
33. Give Brennan one hand massage or back massage monthly. Yes siree, I am not slacking on this one!!!
36. Buy some new comfy summer sandals. They aren't fancy, but I like them!

"Shhh"
I am sorry but Geddy amazes me every second!!! We went out to dinner to Applebees tonight. Geddy was being his usual loud self, hooting and hollering while he was in the highchair. I looked at him, put my finger to my mouth and said “shhh,” he put his finger to his mouth and said “shhh” right back!!! How does this kid know how to do these things? I have never seen him do that before! I asked Brennan how he knows how to copy me, and he said, “that’s what he’s been doing his whole life (copying me).” I’d better be careful what I say and do.

A Magical Eight
We celebrated our 8 year anniversary today (actual anniversary date is 04/11). I decided to use a good idea from Kim Rivers about switching the planning between the spouses each year. I have "even" years and Brennan has "odd" years from now on (which means I get to plan 10 and Brennan gets to plan 25!) I planned a fun and inexpensive (of course!) date. A BIG thanks to Nana Smoot for watching Geddy Man. I told Brennan "no presents" because part of the date included "getting presents," but he surprised me with a pedicure. So I enjoyed a nice pedicure this morning. Then around 2:30 we left for our date! First stop - Dollar Tree. The object: spend $9.00 on each other, getting silly and fun items.
Brennan's TOP TWO favorite things from Tonee: Super Glue and Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
(I personally thought the citronella button was hilarious as Brennan's worst enemies are mosquitoes!)

2nd Stop - Clark Planetarium to see Hubble 3D. What can I say? Brennan loves space and I love God's beautiful creations; he was in awe and I was (almost) in tears after the show! :) :) VERY GOOD!
3rd Stop - Dinner at Texas Roadhouse (we had a gift card, so it was free...oh yah!) I ate so much bloomin' onion, rolls, and salad that I basically had to bring home my whole sweet potato and salmon. Brennan got steak and ribs and basically licked his plate clean! ha ha ha
We tried to have room for ice cream after, but no such luck.

March Update - My Bucket List
I really feel like I can't cross a lot off my list this month, but I started what I feel is a monumental task of putting together "Geddy's First Year," which is now officially titled, "a glimpse into the life and happenings of Geddy William Smoot: Dec '08 - Dec '09." Since scrapbooking and the desire to scrapbook is a thing of the past for me, I decided to create a "photo book" of Geddy's first year. Of course I am using the template that lets you incorporate text as well. I have 15 pages in Word of that first year, so it all needs to fit into a book with photos and all! I am using "My Publisher" and ordering the book from Costco. The book is 11.5" x 15" with the first 20 pages included at the price of about 35.00. I have only completed the 5th month of Geddy's first year and I am already at 30 pages or so. I am excited to see what the final product will look like, but not excited about what it will cost. I am hoping it's not over $100.00. I figure I would have spent that much at least in paper, sheet protectors, binder and other embellishments if I went with traditional scrapbooking, so I am trying not to feel too bad.
Here's what I can cross off my list (or partially cross off!)
6. Put together “Geddy’s First Year” – a photo and journal compilation...Started!!!
26. Read 4 novels - Wizards First Rule (03/25/10). Wow! I am well on my way to accomplishing this. I am on my 4th novel and the year isn't even a 3rd over.
33. Give Brennan one hand massage or back massage monthly. I HIGHLY recoomend this to spice up your relationship!! :) :)
47. Organize and file away 2008 & 2009 papers at work. Yeah, I feel great about this one and my office at work feels much more organized!
