36 Weeks

I was quite depressed today and wanted to cry on the exam table when the Dr. said I am only 2 cm, and your "cervix is still quite high and thick". I really haven't progressed any in 10 days!!! I know whether or not I have this baby in 1 week or 3 weeks, she's coming SOON regardless, so I should just grin and bear it. He also said based on the computers calculations from the sonogram, she's weighing in at around 8 lbs already, but he doesn't think she's quite that big. Now this time around I am really scared I am going to have a 10 lb baby!!! It was something I worried greatly about with Geddy, and he turned out to be 7 lbs 5 oz. I am just worried about being able to deliver a large baby. Cross your fingers for me!

35 Weeks and COUNTING . . .

Counting is actually an understatement! I am literally willing this baby to get here. I realize I am a couple weeks too early, so that's not a good thing. I have been utterly miserable for a week now. I had my 35 week check up today and asked them to please check to see if I was dilated at all. I am 2 cm, but only 50% effaced and a -2 station. So heading in the right direction, but sure that I will not have a baby for atleast another few weeks, which is a good thing for the baby I guess! :) I can't believe how soon and yet how far away a few weeks can feel. I know I can do it, and a few weeks will turn into me blinking and it's her one year birthday. I am trying to enjoy the last bit of this pregnancy, but it's been hard, if not impossible. I had a good day yesterday (Sunday) but that was the first good one in at least a week. I made cookies, and didn't even need to take a nap. Last night was another wake up every hour, sleepless night. Well enough of my complainings. I have finally given into complaining, which I have felt incredibly guilty doing before now, seeing as how this baby is such a gift and miracle to us.

33 Weeks - Pregnancy Stats

- Baby's heartbeat: 150 bpm.
- Momma's measuring 34 weeks.
- Momma's gained 41 pounds.
- Baby is head down with her back constantly pushed hard against my right upper abdomen.
- Momma is beyond tired and READY to have a baby.
That's ALL!!!

Resolution #3

... is well underway! "Taking the binky" away. I was planning on waiting until he was three, because that's what I thought I would be comfortable with, but lo and behold one morning Geddy showed me how his binky was getting old and "ripped," so I suggested that he throw it away. He only said "no" for a minute, then promptly threw it away. I couldn't miss this opportunity. I decided to dig in my heels and make this happen. The first nap was rough, but the first night he didn't even ask for it. He has asked for it since, but Brennan bought him a "Toby" train and now when he asks for it we tell him he threw it away in the garbage/gave it to the garbage truck man and he got a new toy. He has a very KEEN memory and will explain to me several times a day that this happened. It's been easier than I thought. I just know we can't use the same Soothie binky for Jennsen, and I am slightly worried what he's going to think when he sees her sucking a binky in a few (up to 7 weeks) weeks.

Terms of Endearment . . .

"I love you Daddy."
"I love you Mommy, Mommy."
"I love you baby Jen."
"I'm wreally wahree (really sorry)."
"I'm so wahree (so sorry)."

Geddy is in the sweetest stage at the moment. He's saying sorry all the time and seems like he means it. Sometimes if he does something wrong he gets this sweet/quiet voice and will even almost sometimes get a tear in his eye and say, "I'm so wahree (sorry)," or "I'm wreally wahree (really sorry)." I find it endearing and even sometimes comical how often he will tell us sorry. For example if he bumps into us by accident, or shocks (static electricity) us accidentally. . . anything like that. I feel like he's turned into the "not terrible two," these past few months and I am REALLY enjoying it.

He also is exhibiting very good manners. He's been saying excuse me when he farts or burps for awhile now, but now he even sometimes says excuse me when WE fart or burp. It's great!!! It's reminded us to have good manners (when farting or burping), especially in front of him. :)

I know each parent loves their kid more than any parent has loved a kid before. But I can honestly say that my kid rocks!!! This is mostly so I can remember how wonderful he is . . he cleans up his toys before bed, he says "please, thank you, excuse me (when farting and when he needs you to move), and sorry" regularly. He follows directions very well and is a great listener. He is very loving and often tells me "pretty mommy." In the sweetest, softest voice (almost with a long sigh), he tells Daddy often, out of the blue "I love you Daddy." He's starting to cooperate more with diaper changes and clothing changes - we call it "teamwork." It's so cute to hear him say "teamwork!" He randomly hugs my tummy and says, "I love you baby Jen" . . . then he usually says "get out." He wants this baby here as much as I do!

I don't know if he's changed a lot in the past few months or if I have (we probably both have - me more patient and him getting older and better behaved), but he's a delight and generally gives me no troubles whatsoever!
